Found in Translation is a private walkie-talkie for two people who speak different languages. You don't send a machine translation — your coach teaches you to say it yourself, in your own voice, until the person you love can understand you. Every message you send is a small piece of their language you now own.

No streaks. No leaderboards. No sentences about the owl's umbrella. Your curriculum is the things you actually want to say to one specific person — and the things they say back.
Simulated session — the real app listens to your voice. The “Hear it” button is real: that's your browser speaking.
Talk to your coach in your own language. Ramble freely — together you narrow it to the message you really mean. The coach compresses your words; it never rewrites your heart.
Your message comes back in their language, spelled out the way your alphabet sounds — KYEH-roh deh-SEER-teh — with pronunciation help for the sounds that are hardest for you.
Speak it. A speech recognizer for their language listens: when it can recover your sentence from your voice, so can they. Understandable — not perfect — is the bar.
They hear you, in their language, with a written explanation as backup. Their coach helps them understand — and answer you in yours.
We designed the system so that we cannot read your messages, then wrote it down so you can check. Plain-language summary:

Fully-local mode runs coaching and speech on your own machine — nothing about your practice ever leaves it. We publish our complete security design, including what we can see and the honest limits of web-delivered encryption. No ads. No data sale. Ever — that's the business model, not a slogan.
A browser and a microphone is all it takes. Fully-local mode is a desktop feature at present.
